❤Happy Valentines Day from Eta Sigma Delta❤

February 14th, the day of lovers and the most romantic day of the year. The day where couple around the world celebrate their love. I was originally going to use this blog as a post to shout out people's loved ones on this special day, but ill use this blog to inform you on the history of Valentines Day and shout out my Valentine. Let's get started!

Legend has it, Valentine's Day is named after Saint Valentine, a Catholic priest who lived in Rome in the 3rd Century. At the time of Valentine's life, many Romans were converting to Christianity, but the Emperor Claudius II was a pagan and created strict laws about what Christians were allowed to do. Claudius believed that Roman soldiers should be completely devoted to Rome and therefore passed a law preventing them from marrying. St Valentine began to marry these soldiers in secret Christian ceremonies and this was the beginning of his reputation for believing in the importance of love. Eventually, Valentine was found out and jailed for his crimes against Claudius. While imprisoned, Valentine cared for his fellow prisoners and also his jailor's blind daughter. Legend has it that Valentine cured the girl's blindness and that his final act before being executed was to write her a love message signed ‘from your Valentine'. Valentine was executed on 14 February in the year 270. So this is where we get the most romantic day of the year.

On this day, I want to send a shout out to my husband Titan Romero. I love you more than words could ever explain or describe. Over the past year, we have grew in each other and im thankful for the bond we share. It hasn't been always easy, but thats what makes what we share so rare and real. I look forward to many more Valentine’s Days with you baby. I love you to the moon and back.❤

There you have it folks, Happy Valentines Day to all of you from the ladies of ESD. Until next time, take care of yourself and each other

Yours truly,

Christy Romero
