Eta Sigma Delta's Artist Village Gala

Eta Sigma Delta dazzled everyone at our second annual art gala - The Artist Village. " When we say artist, it mean the ones who are building things ... some with a brush - some choose a pen - some with voice " The main thing is to be moved, to love, to hope, to tremble, to live. Art will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind. Music is the poetry of sound, so is painting the poetry of sight, poets send us into another world as they take us with them into their journey with voice... We were entertained with poetry from Destiny Neuman-Ashland, KariNoelle Baptiste, Elyssa Renee Moralez and LP Kidd. All was mesmerized with the beautiful voice of the lovely Melenda McBride Mikael, and beautiful art exhibits done by Judilynn India... We would also like to thank our first lady Snowangel Monroe with all her many tallents, Miss Scarlet Lenoirre and the Eta Sigma Delta sisters for a wonderful african dance performance.  We also would like to thank Genesis Moralez...

Eta Sigma Delta's Sapphire Monologues

On February 11, 2016 at 6 pm slt, Eta Sigma Delta shocked the SL world with their rendition of the inspired play by Playwright Eva Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues". The Sapphire Monologues was created in order to shed some light on domestic violence against women. It was done in a exciting, emotional and fun way.

Each performer brought a amazing talent to their performance. Some made you want to cry, some made you emotional, some made you laugh, some made you mad and some just made you HOT. The audience took in a sense of what each female was bringing to the table. Everyone was all eyes on the stage as the performer spoke every word.

KariNoelle Baptiste, The Host for the night

KariNoelle Baptiste, Eta Sigma Delta’s Secretary & host for the night educated the audience that although the Sapphires Monologue’s were inspired by "The Vagina Monologues,”  Eta Sigma Delta Sorority is fully committed to ONE BILLION RISING as part of their philanthropies raising awareness and spreading the word about Domestic Violence against women.

Reaghan Reign performing "The Little Coochi Snorcher That Could"

Reaghan's performance had you emotional as she touched on child molestation, being raped and introduced to a whole other world that she never expected to experience as a child. This presentation went from highs to low and from laughs to tears. The way she executed this skit was awesome!

**********

Elyssa Moralez performing "I was 12. My Mother Slapped Me"

Elyssa brought the attitude, spice and sauce to her performance. As she sat in her girly throne and treated the audience as if they were her closest friends, explaining to them all about her life and what she experienced.  Her performance was natural and definitely on point!

**********

Egyptt Angel Xaris performing "I Was There In The Room"...

Egypt'sperformance was heartfelt and made you feel as if you was in the room. The way she vividly explained the birth of a baby was awesome! Every detail, every breath, every push, every pain, every emotion felt from the dad and the family. It was very exciting and if you have never been in the room while a mother gave birth you experienced that in her performance. Let your imagination run free.

Intermission! SL Aaliyah hits the stage!

Bringing everyone into her performance, the SL Aaliyah hit the stage along side her dancers, KariNoelle and Egypt. They brought the fire and kept the crowd hype as they sat, ate their dinner, had their drinks and listened to the smooth sounds of Aaliyah!

***************

SnowAngel Monroe performing "My Angry Vagina"

SnowAngel brought a captivating performance. She expressed how if Vagina's could talk they'd tell you exactly what they DON'T like and want versus what they actually DO like and want. She gave a very convincing performance with much anger and frustration. She drew you in with her performance and while angry she also made you laugh! Awesome performance!

************

Destiny Neuman-Ashland performing "The Woman Who Loved To Make Vaginas Happy"

Now for my performance and keep in mind I am not reviewing my own performance but relaying what was said directly to me. Destiny performance of a dominatrix that learned that making vaginas happy made her HAPPY! She kept the audience engaged and worked them up toward her big finish! The unexpected examples of various moans. Her performance made the audience laugh and hot at the same time! Steamy performance!

SURPRISE SURPRISE! SL Beyoncé got all the performers together in #formation!

The big finish was one word, EPIC! SL Beyoncé made a special appearance bringing a close to the show performing her hit, Run The World and her latest show stopper, Formation! This was a perfect end to a phenomenal night!

In closing, remember that domestic violence happens everyday. Take a closer look at the One Billion Rising website. One Billion Rising is the biggest worldwide action to end violence against women in human history. Keep the statistic that "1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during their lifetime" as cited by One Billion Rising website. Help us continue to raise awareness... Stay Aware! Help especially if you see it happening.

Valentines Day Blues? Some things you can do to fight off Mr. Cupid.

When Valentine’s Day comes around, it may seem as if everyone is in love but you...or you may look on social media only to find all the lovey dovey pictures of couples in love, or people flashing rings, or gifts which they have received.  Always keep in mind what you see on social media does not always show the truth. For a lot of people, all that lovey-dovey goodness is great — but for others, it can just be depressing. After all, Valentine’s Day is about couples...Or is it? Personally I don't need a special day to show love to someone, I show it all year round, I don't need a special day to give gifts, I give all year round...I think Valentines Day is truly just another way for retailers to make money.

Valentines day is about love, so who says you have to be involved to enjoy the day, and just because you don’t have someone special at this moment doesn’t mean you’re less deserving of love, fun, and good feelings.

Being single myself I decided on doing a bit of self love, I did some things that I enjoy. First I set out to go shopping...I mean who doesn't like like to shop right ladies? And this frappe is oh sooo good. Nothing  says I love me like treating myself to a new pair of shoes,or an outfit.

Next I decided to dress up, I mean you don't need  a date to look good. And I do love taking selfies. Shoot I love myself!! Damn you go girl!! Looking good in that red gown!!
I decided to head home and do one of my favorite hobbies, hobbies are always a good way to get your mind at ease. Do something you love to do. The day is about love right? I love music, there is a song for every mood! Music is Life!
Time for some pampering, nothing says I love me more than pampering myself..I decided on a nice hot candle lit bath with the sweet aroma of rose petals floating around...oh can't forget the wine!

Remember you don't have to be in a relationship to enjoy valentines day, you have family, and friends, but most importantly you have yourself! You want chocolates, don't wait for a man or woman to buy them, go indulge, you want flowers, heck go get some and place them in a nice vase. Always remember you don't need a mate to feel special on Valentines day, take time out to celebrate you!
