Hello, and welcome back, hope you tuned in Wednesday for our fourteenth black-owned business! If you are new here, grab a seat and check out what we are doing this month! Grab some snacks and get to reading.

For Black History Month, Eta Sigma Delta Inc will be highlighting some of our black-owned businesses on the grid for the second year. These business leaders have been seen working very hard at what they do and showing everyone that they can and will do it. We want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to their crafts.

These businesses have made a positive impact on the community rather it was by recognizing their dedicated customers, giving out group gifts, joining into conversations with their customers on Facebook, or just by giving great customer service. We want to say thank you for letting us into your world and we commend you for your hard work and focus.

Here is what our fifteenth business owner had to say...

Our fifteenth business is The Mocha Corporation

About the owner, Ms. DarkEbony Mocha...

"Ms. DarkEbony Mocha landed on the grid in 2010. Notoriously family-oriented, Ms. Mocha is a loving, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and Godmother. And in 2015, overtaken by the urge to add dimension and thrill to her Second Life, she embarked on an ultimately successful professional journey as the CEO of The Mocha Corporation (TMC).  She was driven to challenge herself to create something remarkable, impactful, and widespread. Having accomplished her vision, she’s amazed at how closely her ideas match the SL-reality she created. The past seven years have seen TMC make multiple connections with various people, in numerous creative areas, and with businesses and technologies to bring cutting-edge content to Second Life. The extraordinary staff at TMC galvanizes Ms. Mocha’s continued growth in greatness, originality, respect, and honor. In real life, she travels the country managing countless technical events for federally funded domestic violence programs.  Her endeavors educate these very necessary programs on how to create, fortify and sustain federally approved processes and procedures.  Be it in real life or Second Life, Ms. Mocha is an indubitable force…she is a Boss!"

The Mocha Corporation has been in business for 7 years and will continue for many more years to come.

We asked DarkEbony a couple of questions and here is what she had to say...

Do you find it is harder for you to be a black-owned business specifically if a lot of what you design, creative, or put together caters more to black people?

- "I never really thought about it as being a black-owned business, but being a viable business that affects many people's game positively.  There are some events designed to galvanize
African Americans, such as Rock the Vote and Positively Mocha, however, the most are just created with entertaining the masses in mind.  My team is predominantly made of African Americans so much of what we create is inspired by our culture or our spin on whatever sparks our creativity."

What makes doing what you do rewarding for you?

- "Grown and Pride.  From the top to the bottom, the team staff has grown professionally, personally and there is no way to describe the pride you feel when something you created affects so many in a positive way.  I adore the TMC team!"

Typically how long does it take you to get 1 item out?

"Hard to say we have events annually."

What advice can you give to other black entrepreneurs trying to start their SL business?

- "First find you an epic team to grow with you.  Secondly, always remember that ambition can so easily come before loyalty, so be watchful and don't let it!"

What would you like to say to all of your supporters and customers?

- "Thank you so much for your support down through the years!  Stick around because THE BEST IS YET TO COME! ♥"

The Flawless Sapphires of Eta Sigma Delta would like to thank you Ms. DarkEbony Mocha for taking time out of your busy day to give us a look inside your life.

Please support this business owner and continue to show love to our black-owned businesses in Second Life.

Thank you for reading!
