Hello and welcome back, hope you tuned in yesterday for our first black owned business! If you are new here, grab a seat and check out what we are doing this month!

For Black History Month, Eta Sigma Delta Inc will be highlighting some of our black owned businesses on the grid. These business leaders have been seen working very hard at what they do and showing everyone that they can and will do it. We want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to their crafts.

These businesses has made a positive impact to the community rather it was by recognizing their dedicated customers, giving out group gifts, joining into conversations with their customers on facebook or just by giving great customer service. We want to say thank you for letting us into your world and we commend you for your hard work and focus.

Here is what our second business owner had to say....

Our second business is FROZEN ILLUSIONS

FROZEN ILLUSIONS is a professional Digital Art/Photography studio. They specialize in portrait art/photography and have been providing art to residents in the community for 10 consecutive years. Their studio is currently the longest running and most awarded professional studio within second life.

About the owner, Menkaure...
"My name is Menkaure, I've been a secondlife resident since early 2009 and I've been in the digital art profession since I was 16 years old. I come from a background of performing arts but switched my focus to fine arts from my sophomore year of high school onward where I focused primarily on acrylic paint and charcoal as my mediums of choice; That along with my natural passion for all things tech I've been able to use those skills to propel my career within second life. I've launched several successful brands including but not limited to: Frozen Illusions, Safaree/Pharaoh, Menkaure's Interior Design & Landscaping and L'Amour Family Clinic & Pharmacy. I've also held the title of Business Partner & Landscape Architect at POSH Designs, as well as Main Cover Photographer at DOPE Magazine."

FROZEN ILLUSIONS has been in business for 10 years and continues to grow.

We asked Menkaure a couple of questions and here is what he had to say...

Do you find it is harder for you being a black owned business and specifically if a lot of what you design, creative or put together caters more to black people?

- "Yes, however I am choosing not to respond as to why."
        We respect that

What makes doing what you do rewarding for you?

- "I love taking an idea from someone's imagination and bringing it to life for them. That is the most rewarding experiences to me as a creative."

Typically how long does it take you to get 1 item out?
- "I can produce several portraits per day."

What advice can you give to other black entrepreneurs trying to start their SL business?

- "Set goals for yourself and stick to them. Don't let anyone deter you, even your own people and absolutely under any circumstance should you ever compare your product or success to anyone else."

What would you like to say to all of your supporters and customers?

- "Thank you for believing in me, standing by me, keeping me in demand and overall just supporting me. Without you guys I'm not sure what path my life would've taken as I didn't know what to do with my life for a while and art was just something to express myself through but you guys showed me my passion and escape could also be my career on sl and beyond."

The Flawless Sapphires of Eta Sigma Delta would like to thank you Menkaure for taking time out of your busy day to give us a look inside your life.

Please support this handsome young man and continue to show love to our black owned businesses in Second Life.
