Hello and welcome! For Black History Month, Eta Sigma Delta Inc will be highlighting some of our black owned businesses on the grid. These business leaders have been seen working very hard at what they do and showing everyone that they can and will do it. We want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to their crafts.
These businesses has made a positive impact to the community rather it was by recognizing their dedicated customers, giving out group gifts, joining into conversations with their customers on facebook or just by giving great customer service. We want to say thank you for letting us into your world and we commend you for your hard work and focus.
Here is what our first business owner had to say....
Our first business is QUEENZ!
QUEENZ is a clothing store and I must say I shop there all the time and I am also in the group, I absolutely love her creations and she has always been friendly and welcoming.
About the owner, MrsHoodRoyal...
"I always had a passion for fashion. I find inspiration in everything I see. I use my brand to also inspire upcoming black female designers, to show them that we can do anything we set our minds to."
QUEENZ have been in business for 5 years and continues to grow.
We asked MrsHoodRoyal a couple of questions and here is what she had to say...
Do you find it is harder for you being a black owned business and specifically if a lot of what you design, creative or put together caters more to black people?
- "I do feel like it's harder for us in the business side of Second Life. We have to work twice as hard as other designers because we are automatically labeled as "Urban" and make "Ghetto" clothing. Over time I have became "Universal" or more "Inclusive" because QUEENZ isn't just for one demographic of women it's for us all."
What makes doing what you do rewarding for you?
- "The support from my customers is mind blowing. They are truly amazing women and I appreciate that. It really keep me pushing forward"
Typically how long does it take you to get 1 item out?
- "About 1-4 days"
What advice can you give to other black entrepreneurs trying to start their SL business?
- "Never get distracted from your goals, don't get discouraged. And always strive to be better."
What would you like to say to all of your supporters and customers?
- "I appreciate and love each of you!! Without you there is no QUEENZ π"
The Flawless Sapphires of Eta Sigma Delta would like to thank you MrsHoodRoyal for taking time out of your busy day to give us a look inside your life.
Please support this beautiful young lady and continue to show love to our black owned businesses in Second Life.
Thank you for reading!
