Welcome Back! Glad to see that you are still with us and you was here for our fifteenth black owned business yesterday! If you are new here, grab a seat and check out what we are doing this month and don't forget to go back to the other blogs so you can play catch up! We hope you are enjoying learning about these businesses and their owners as much as we are. π
For Black History Month, Eta Sigma Delta Inc is highlighting some of our black owned businesses on the grid. These business leaders have been seen working very hard at what they do and showing everyone that they can and will do it. We want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to their crafts.
These businesses have made a positive impact to the community rather it was by recognizing their dedicated customers, giving out group gifts, joining into conversations with their customers on Facebook or just by giving great customer service. We want to say thank you for letting us into your world and we commend you for your hard work and focus.
Here is what our sixteenth business owner had to say....
Our sixteenth business is Batista's Getaway Resort!
"I've been on the SL grid for 8 years. I started at Batista's in 2013 as a staff server, was promoted to Manager in 2014 and in 2015 the business was handed down as my father, Deangelo Batista retired. I'm a private person, more of a homebody. I take pride in being loyal to those around me. I'm a mother of one son, Adrian Xavorin Batista and wife to Tyson Lefevre for the last year."
- "We are a recreational establishment and cater to all races. So I don't feel it to be harder for me in the business that I'm in. I think the key is remaining relevant in a field such as this. Since interests shift so often here in SL, it's important to remain persistent regardless. If your audience can count on you to always be there, that in itself is success to me."
- "What makes what I do most rewarding is when you hear that you truly made someone's day. It could be by providing an extra detail or showing genuine care for their concerns and needs. Knowing that you provided someone with a unique experience that they not only appreciate but won't forget is the most rewarding."
- "We don't create items so I would say reservations depend on availability"
