Hello, are you still with us? Great! That means you tuned in yesterday for sixth black owned business! If you are new here, grab a seat and check out what we are doing this month and don't forget to go back to the other blogs so you can play catch up! We hope you are enjoying learning about these businesses and their owners as much as we are. π
For Black History Month, Eta Sigma Delta Inc is highlighting some of our black owned businesses on the grid. These business leaders have been seen working very hard at what they do and showing everyone that they can and will do it. We want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to their crafts.
These businesses have made a positive impact to the community rather it was by recognizing their dedicated customers, giving out group gifts, joining into conversations with their customers on Facebook or just by giving great customer service. We want to say thank you for letting us into your world and we commend you for your hard work and focus.
Here is what our seventh business owner had to say....
Our seventh business is Clean Cut Weddings!
Clean Cut Weddings is a wedding company that specializes in truly one of a kind wedding events. Together with my wife Tye Dinzel De Roca (Coordinator), we ensure that a couples wedding is like no other and that their day is a memorable one. We provide his and hers suites, a wedding ceremony and reception and video. Delicate care is taken to make sure everything is in its place and the only thing that the couple has to worry about is showing up!
About the owner, Gabriel De Roca
"My name is Gabe and I've been in SL for about 13 years. I've always loved building and creating scenes since I'm a big Sims player so I took to designing naturally. I keep myself busy with all of my businesses and my family. Always looking to learn new things and improve. I just do what I love to do and it doesn't feel like work."
Clean Cut Weddings have been in business for about 2 years.
We asked Gabriel a couple of questions and here is what he had to say...
Do you find it is harder for you being a black owned business and specifically if a lot of what you design, creative or put together caters more to black people?
- "No I don't."
What makes doing what you do rewarding for you?
- " I just love to make people happy. If they thought enough of me to want my service, I want to do everything I can to give them what they want so that they walk away a happy customer."
Typically how long does it take you to get 1 item out?
- "It really depends on what I'm doing. I usually set up an end date with my client."
What advice can you give to other black entrepreneurs trying to start their SL business?
- "Just do your very best. Your brand should be important to you so whatever you put out reflects on your brand as well as your self. Always be professional even when you don't want to and always learn your craft top to bottom."
What would you like to say to all of your supporters and customers?
- "I would like to say that I'm highly appreciative of my supporters and customers and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for everything."
The Flawless Sapphires of Eta Sigma Delta would like to thank you Gabriel for taking time out of your busy day to give us a look inside your life.
Please support this handsome young man and continue to show love to our black owned businesses in Second Life.
Thank you for reading and come back tomorrow for our next business recognition!
Signing Out
