Hello, are you still with us? Great! That means you tuned in yesterday for fourth black owned business! If you are new here, grab a seat and check out what we are doing this month and don't forget to go back to the other blogs so you can play catch up! π
For Black History Month, Eta Sigma Delta Inc will be highlighting some of our black owned businesses on the grid. These business leaders have been seen working very hard at what they do and showing everyone that they can and will do it. We want to recognize them for their hard work and dedication to their crafts.
These businesses have made a positive impact to the community rather it was by recognizing their dedicated customers, giving out group gifts, joining into conversations with their customers on Facebook or just by giving great customer service. We want to say thank you for letting us into your world and we commend you for your hard work and focus.
Here is what our fifth business owner had to say....
Our fifth business is BABY Faces!
BABY Faces is dedicated to bringing all kids a wonderful cosmetic experience by combining fresh faces with a broad diverse spectrum of skin tones as well as little cosmetic trinkets to give every child the makeover of their dreams.
About the owner, BABY Faces - Blaiseowl...
"I have been into skin making since 2008. I have always had a love for realistic 3D characters. My love for the art started when I was about 7 yrs of age playing Sims. Until I branched out into the internet world & started learning all about Gimp & Photoshop - For awhile I was even into drawing & had an interest for anatomy."
BABY Faces have been in business for about 3 years.
We asked BABY Faces a couple of questions and here is what she had to say...
Do you find it is harder for you being a black owned business and specifically if a lot of what you design, creative or put together caters more to black people?
- "Absolutely it is way harder when being a person of color to run a SUCCESSFUL store and to properly get your flowers - The whole purpose of my brand BABY Faces was to cater to kids of color. There were a lack in the market or those that were around just wasn't representing correctly (per usual) & I wanted to change that."
What makes doing what you do rewarding for you?
- "The fact that our people love & appreciate what I am doing for us."
Typically how long does it take you to get 1 item out?
- "A couple days to a week."
What advice can you give to other black entrepreneurs trying to start their SL business?
- "Stay 10 toes down do not WHITE wash your brand for the white vote & go into this business sure of your craft."
What would you like to say to all of your supporters and customers?
- "I appreciate & love every single one of you!"
The Flawless Sapphires of Eta Sigma Delta would like to thank you Baby Faces for taking time out of your busy day to give us a look inside your life.
Please support this beautiful young lady and continue to show love to our black owned businesses in Second Life.
