Hello everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful mothers day. I come to you tonight with a blog that hits home. My aunt got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia several years ago. For years she went to different doctors, who thought she was crazy, because physically every test ran, showed she was in perfect health. For years she suffered with constant pain, sometimes so bad she couldnt even get out of bed. Simple little tasks were unbearable for her, due to the constant pain she was in. Id see her cry, scream out, ask God, why me?....My heart broke for her, almost every day. No day was ever a good day, but sometimes there were days where the pain was manageable, and those days, I seen a glimpse of the vibrant person my aunt used to be. One doctor finally looked at her as a person who was pleading for help, instead of a crazy person who was possibly just trying to get pills. She got diagnosed, and started taking medication and started feeling somewhat back to herself again; however the pain was still there, but most days it was manageable and she could spend time with the ones who loved her, and the ones she loved.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Symptoms include Pain and tender points, Fatigue,
Sleep problems, Concentration and memory problems, known as "fibro fog", Anxiety or depression,
Morning stiffness, Numbness, and tingling in hands, arms, feet, and legs, Headaches, Irritable bowel syndrome, Problems with peeing, Painful menstrual cramps. Fibromyalgia back then, to what it is now has advanced so much; modern day technology along with new understandings shed much more light on the disease and more medications to help control your pain to possibly live a normal life. There is no cure for Fibro, nor is there a test to diagnose, but they continue working every day to find a cure. This month is Fibromyalgia Awareness month. If you or any of your family suffers from the symptoms listed above, I urge you to seek a doctor as soon as possible.
If you would like more information regarding Fibromyalgia. Below I have listed the official website. Take care until next time. Take care of yourself, and each other!
