(❁´◡`❁) GREEK HIGHLIGHT 411-JUNE EDITION (❁´◡`❁)

Eta Sigma Delta is proud to present, GREEK HIGHLIGHT 411. The Flawless Sapphires will pick 2 Greek organizations a month to interview. We will get to know a little about them, and any upcoming events so we can be more informed on upcoming Greek Events. Our sorority for the month we chose is Psi Kappa Phi. Big Sister Sweet and Sassy sat down with Founder Suzie Esquire. Here's what she had to say.

Christy: Grandma its an absolute pleasure to be sitting down with you today. Earlier in the month we interviewed Xi Alpha Phi which is your brother organization so I found it to be fitting to choose Psi Kappa Phi for our sorority of the month.

Suzie: Thank you grand baby girl. Its a pleasure, and thank you so much for thinking of us.

Christy: You are very welcome. Lets get started by telling me a little background about you?

Suzie: Oh boy! My name is Suzie Coba-Esquire founder of Psi Kappa Phi. I am a very passionate person and passionate about things and people I love. I'm genuine, I love people and I'm an advocate for women. I'm always looking to challenge myself within, with new ideas and anything positive.

Christy: One thing I can say about you, you are a beautiful person inside and out. I've known you for a while and you are always positive and love helping anyone in need. Tell me What made you want to found Psi Kappa Phi and when was it founded?

Suzie: Psi Kappa Phi was founded on November 13th 2019.  I founded Psi Kappa Phi because I wanted to make a difference in the Greek community. Some of the negative behaviour sometimes gives the Greek community a black eye on the grid. We all can work towards changing that! I wanted to develop an organization that would bring positive and empowered women together. My goal is to make sure my sisters and I are doing our part in promoting positive change.

Christy: That is a great answer. Women empowerment I will always be passionate about. So tell me how do you feel Psi Kappa Phi is different from the rest of the sororities in Second life?

Suzie: The love we show for our sisters is a start. You have to start with home before you do or help anyone else. The support and love we show for each other, I'm hoping that can be contagious in the the Greek community. Also what we try to do in psi Kappa Phi, we are strong advocates on empowering each other, we are not in competition. We hope that empowerment is seen across the Greek community and encourages people to empower each other as well.

Christy: I love that answer! So tell me what are your philanthropies?

Suzie: Kidney Disease, One of the daughters that we had passed away from Kidney disease, and if she were still with us I'm sure she would have joined Psi Kappa Phi and been involved just as much as the rest of my sisters. Also it hits closer to home with my RL daughter, she also has Kidney disease,. Its something Psi Kappa Phi is very passionate about, and that makes me proud.

Christy: Do you have any signature events?

Suzie: We are still new to the Greek community but one of the events we are bringing back is Business Forum. We did it last year and are looking forward to doing it this year as well.

Christy: That is awesome! Do you have any events coming other than Business Form?

Suzie: We do have an event coming soon, however details cannot be released at this time. Please follow our Facebook page for updates. https://www.facebook.com/TheLadiesOfPsiKappaPhiSLSororityInc

Christy: I cant wait to hear what you ladies are coming up with! One more question, Are the ladies of Psi Kappa Phi by chance having a pledge line this year?

Suzie: Yes we will be having a pledge line, we are accepting applications. Please stay updated for more information on when pledging will begin.

Christy: Sounds great! Do you have any closing remarks or anything you would like to add?

Suzie: Yes, I wanted to say I am very proud of my brothers and congrats on another year. To my sisters and my family I love you so much. To the Greek Community, I have nothing but love for all of you. Be a light in a world full of darkness!

Christy: That's beautiful grandma! Thank you so much for your time, and doing this interview with me!

Suzie: You are welcome grand baby girl, thank you for the opportunity!

˜”*°•.˜”*°• πŸ₯‚ A Father's Day Special Message πŸ₯‚ •°*”˜.•°*”˜

Father's Day is an occasion to mark and celebrate the contribution that your own father has made to your life. Many people send or give cards or gifts to their fathers.

These can range from a simple phone call or greetings card to large parties honoring all of the 'father' figures in a particular extended family. Father figures can include fathers, step-fathers, fathers-in-law, grandfathers and great-grandfathers and even other male relatives. Sometimes we often are not sure what to get the dads in our lives but just remember the simple things in life always means the most.

A father makes all the difference in a child's life. He's a pillar of strength, support and discipline.
His work is endless and, oftentimes, thankless. But in the end, it shows the sound, well-adjusted
children he raises.

This Father's Day some awesome people put their pen to paper and let us into their world of how awesome the father in their lives are.... Take a peek...  πŸ‘€

Dina Emerald

What Father’s Day means to me: It is a day to celebrate the very special man in your life that has been there for you all your life as that male parental figure. Since I started SL 8 ½ years ago Djlove Emerald has been my father. When DJlove first adopted me, I admit, I gave him a hard time. The version of a father that I had was a man that I could not trust. Djlove showed me what a true father is supposed to be to his children. This man has always had my back, supported all that I did and never turned his back on me. He filled that hole in my heart where my RL father was not there. DJlove has been that man who I could call when something was wrong and he would give me fatherly advice. My father always made me feel like a queen and he made sure that I knew that I was and should always be treated as such.

My daddy gave me the greatest gift ever which is he believes in me always. Djlove is my protector, he gives me strength, he is my hero and he loves me unconditionally. My daddy encourages me and he has a very understanding heart. My father is a giver and he will give someone the shirt off his back. My daddy Djlove has set the standard to what I judge all men who come into my life. My daddy is the most amazing man in the world and he is the most amazing father to me and all of his kids.

 Love you very much Daddy.

Jayceb Sparrowhawk- My SL Dad
Dad, I could sit here and write a novel on what you mean to me, but I'm gonna keep it short and simple. You are an amazing father! Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for me and my siblings. You are strong, you are supportive, loving, and you would ride to the ends of the earth for us! I truly hope you know how much I love and appreciate you. I'm honored to be your daughter, and always know I got you 100%.

Happy Father's Day to one of the best dads on the grid.
Love you so much

Titan Romero-  Babe, today is your day and I wanted to give you a shout out for being one of the best dads I know. I watch you in awe every day of the amazing father you are to our children. I am honored to be the mother of your children, and always know I love you so much. Thank you for all you do baby!

Happy Father's Day.
Te Amo!!

My RL Hero- Another Father's Day without you. Id give anything to be able to see and hear your voice just one more time, but then I'd be wishing for more. Life has been so hard without you, and it doesn't get any easier. Thank you for everything you did for me and taught me. Thank you for being the best father I know you could be and never giving up on me. I love and miss you so much daddy.

Happy Heavenly Father's Day ❤

You helped me grow into the woman I am today even if you didn’t realize it. You are so compassionate and you have one of the biggest hearts and you are so special to me.

My Grandpa Emerald is the best Gpa ever. I have grown to have a close bond with him. He is always around when I need him the most. He is so loving, caring, and hard working, He is the glue to the Emerald family. Whenever I'm having a bad day gpa always shows up to make me smile or laugh. Gpa is so busy.... he farms, builds and landscapes. Even though we don't get to hang out every day he always sends his love. I also like how he is an awesome dad to my mommy, a great husband to my glammy, friend and so much more. I could not have asked for awesome gpa in sl and mentor.

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,

The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle's flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it ... Dad

I’d like to dedicate this post to my amazing husband. You are a wonderful father and a great example to our daughters. Happy Father’s Day!

Cassie Shaw MD

Real life Dad
First I'd like to talk about my real life dad who is no longer among the living but will forever and ever be alive in my heart. I am such a daddy's girl and always have been. We didn't always get a long but come on with parents that happens sometimes but with me it was mostly because I was spoiled, lol. Yes I can admit that. I miss him so much I can't even express how much. I choose to reminisce on the many Father's Day and birthdays that we celebrated and had so much fun. I love you dad and I miss you beyond measure... Sleep In Peace

Father of my daughter
What can I say about you? You are such a great father, I could not have asked for a better one. You are attentive, protective, loving and so much more to our daughter. No matter, what you have always been a amazing father to our daughter and she just adores you. But you re not just the father of our daughter but you are also my very close friend. Many people cannot understand the level of respect we have for each other or the relationship we share as co-parents and friends and that's okay, but I want to say personally that I appreciate all you do for our daughter and for me. On this Father's day you get to have whatever you want because we cherish and love you.

Happy Father's Day Jovaney!

To all the fathers out there busting your butts and taking care of your family, we see you and we appreciate you!

Happy Father's Day!

Juneteenth

Juneteenth, also known as, Freedom Day, is sometimes called the Second Independence Day. The day when all Americans were truly free.

June 19, 1865 Union soldiers freed the last of the slaves in Galveston, Texas. This was over two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. It took this extra time because there were so few soldiers to enforce the new law. Even after freeing the slaves and making Black Americans "equal" white southerners refused to treat them as such. There was violence and killings and segregation began.

Juneteenth was celebrated by having barbeques, dancing, reciting the Emancipation Proclamation, eating and drinking red foods and beverages to represent the blood of the slaves. They did this despite and to rebel against the hate of the south. Celebrations were even held on land that Black Americans had to be to even be able to celebrate. These festivities got bigger and bigger each year.

Most importantly, the celebrations grew into reflection education, advocacy and policy change. Every June 19 celebrations were had. But every other day, the spirit of June 19 drove policy changes, equality, and even the Civil Rights Movement. It became a time to fight for equality: equal job opportunity, the right to vote, the right to an equal and adequate education, and more.

In 2021, Juneteenth has become a federal holiday, the first since Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

🌈🏳️‍🌈α’ͺGα—·TQ α‘α–‡Iα—ͺE α—°Oα‘ŽTα•ΌπŸŒˆπŸ³️‍🌈

This is the month we rock our rainbows with PRIDE. June is LGBTQ Pride Month, which means Americans around the country should expect some colorful marches throughout the month as people make a stand for equality.

If you didn't know, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month (LGBTQ Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan.

The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the “day” soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events.

Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposium and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS.

The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.

In 1994, a coalition of education-based organizations in the United States designated October as LGBT History Month. In 1995, a resolution passed by the General Assembly of the National Education Association included LGBT History Month within a list of commemorative months.

LGBT History Month is also celebrated with annual month-long observances of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, along with the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. National Coming Out Day (October 11), as well as the first “March on Washington” in 1979, are commemorated in the LGBT community during LGBT History Month, as told by https://www.loc.gov/lgbt/about.html

Normally I get people to sign up to tell me how they will celebrate this month, however this year I did not do that, we will be right back at it next year. I did, however steal two pictures from two people I know who is loud and proud. Christy Sparrowhawk aka Big Sister Sweet N Sassy who is my sorority sister and very close friend and Sugar McIntosh Stubbs who is a friend and also has been a loyal patient of mine.

They posted these pictures on facebook and I thought they were awesome. Check it out πŸ‘‡

Cassie D. Shaw M.D.

As for me, I believe The LGBTQ community often gets frowned upon without people realizing that it's all human beings. Who you fall in love with is who you fall in love with. No one have the right to judge unless they have no skeletons or anything growing in their own backyards.

People have been saying where have our world come to when LGBTQ marriage was legalized but, that isn't anything bad. The rights for two human beings to wed because their love is REAL, where is the harm is that? Love has no gender, love have no face, Love is Love, there is no hatred in that.

If you are a lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender or whatever, do not let others dictate your life and how you live it. We get one life to live and you get to live it the way you choose. Having a attraction to someone that hits your soul is never wrong. Love who you love without worrying about who is watching!

Love has no bounds and no limits. People really do need to open up their minds and hearts because this is the world we live in. It is much easier to love someone then to hate them for their nationality, skin color, orientation or anything for that matter that makes them different from you. Continue to celebrate LGBTQ Pride month for the living as well as the lives that were lost.

This is me πŸ‘‡

(❁´◡`❁) GREEK HIGHLIGHT 411-JUNE EDITION (❁´◡`❁)

Eta Sigma Delta is proud to present, GREEK HIGHLIGHT 411. The Flawless Sapphires will pick 2 greek organizations a month to interview. We will get to know a little about them, and any upcoming events so we can be more informed on upcoming Greek Events. Our fraternity for the month we chose is Xi Alpha Phi. Big Sister Sweet and Sassy sat down with Founder Tiaz Esquire. Heres what he had to say.

Christy: Hi grandpa, I am so glad you had the opportunity to sit down with me today and do this interview. First off I want to say congratulations on your 8th Founders Day. Im sure you are extremely proud of what you have accomplished and we are proud of you!  How bout we get started with telling me a little about you?

Tiaz: Thank you baby girl, yes I am so humbled. I am so proud of what Xi Alpha Phi has accomplished over the past 8 years and will continue to do more. My name is Tiaz Esquire. I have been on SL for 10 years in August...I came from IMVU. I thought I was a builder, but when I got to SL I found out I wasn't a builder I was a professional texture. I got into the Greek world because I wanted the camaraderie that I saw from my brothers, my uncles and my dad. I have 4 children Cameron, Nova, Sheba, and Brooklyn.  I have a beautiful wife who is my RL as well, Mrs Suzie Esquire, whom is the founder of Psi Kappa Phi. We have been together since 2015, and still going strong.  She is my rock and my biggest supporter. She stands beside me through it all, and I couldn't do it without her.

Christy: Awww Im glad you gave a shout out to grandma, shes an amazing woman! Psi Kappa Phi is Xi Alpha Phi's sister organization. I love seeing y'all blend so well together. I love how unified you as brothers and sisters stand with each other. Speaking of brothers, tell me what made you want to start a fraternity in SL? And when was Xi Alpha Phi founded?

Tiaz: Xi Alpha Phi was founded June 1st 2013. Most people know that I am a real greek. I am a third generation Alpha. I am and forever will be an Alpha Kappa Alpha. My uncle and brothers and father are Alpha Phi Alpha, the thing that I wanted to experience the camaraderie, that my brothers and uncles and nephews have in RL. When I got on the grid, I never hid that I was a female and I wasn't accepted into fraternities because of that very reason. I joined an organization and ended up being a founder but they weren't going in the direction that I would have liked to go . After leaving, my family at the time suggested that I start my own organization and thats how Xi Alpha Phi was created. It was a lot of work, but every second of that work was well worth it.

Christy: Again, congratulations on your 8th Founders Day! I want to switch gears for a moment and talk about the community service you have done. What are your philanthropies and why are they important to Xi Alpha Phi?

Tiaz:  Sickle Cell Anemia, It has impacted my family so much and the black community as a whole. I had 14 aunts and uncles in RL and now I am down to 6. I wanted to throw my all into something that I could relate to and be passionate about. I will continue to spread awareness due to the impact it has had on my family. Helping people and spreading awareness makes everything we do worth it.

Christy: That is truly beautiful grandpa. I am so sorry for the loss of your family members. Im sure its very hard, but I love the fact you are helping other people from your own personal experience. Aside from the charities, what are some of your signature events?

Tiaz: Alpha Steel is the one night Alphas strip for charity. We have a silent auction, normally happens in August, and we have the beauty pageant, Miss Golden SL, which we weren't able to do last year due to Covid, but we are looking forward to doing it this year. We have our annual Hood Ball as well which is in December.

Christy: I look forward to supporting those events!! Would you like to announce any upcoming events?

Tiaz: Alpha Steel will be coming soon, please follow our Facebook page for more details on upcoming events. https://www.facebook.com/XiAlphaPhi

Christy: Alright Im sure the ladies is gonna love hearing that event is coming soon!!! Ladies be on the look out, the Alpha's are about to strip it down! Alright grandpa, I have one more question, and Im sure we all want to know the answer. Is Xi Alpha Phi going to have a pledge line anytime soon??

Tiaz: Yes we are actually accepting applications and doing interviews for our next pledge line, if you are interested please go on the website and fill out the application and we will get back to you. We look forward to meeting you.

Christy: That is awesome! You heard it here first. Thank you so much for doing this interview with me. Is there anything else you would like to add?

Tiaz: Yes actually I would like to say one more thing bbg. There are alot of organizations that have came from IMVU,. When they come to a different platform, we need to respect the people that came before you. Make sure you are original, don't take short cuts, due your homework and making sure you aren't taking anyone else's idea. I have been on the grid 8 years, and I have busted my butt and so have my brothers to have something original, so all I ask is do your homework, put in the time to be unique and original. Its about respect for each others and what they bring to Greek Life. Anyone who is a true founder wants to be respected and recognized for making their own way, so don't ride somebody's coat tails. Stand up and do your own thing and make your own thing great! Lets Unify and do our service to the SL Community. Thank you again so much bbg for allowing me to come and sit with you.

Christy: You are very welcome grandpa! Again, thank you for your time!
